Fractured
Digital Exhibit Concept
Fractured is a concept for a digital exhibit exploring the Canadian Residential School System and its lasting impacts on the identities of Canada's Indigenous people. Thorough research as well as collaboration with Indigenous advisors was carried out to ensure the project accurately reflected survivors' stories and experiences.
The exhibit uses stories, statistics, and survivor accounts to examine how the schools systematically attacked Indigenous identities. Specific aspects of culture and identity are explored to examine how the Canadian government sought to stamp them out. The exhibit is meant to make survivors' voices heard, and spread their stories to people in Canada and around the world.
